I was doing some morning reading and Largehearted Boy was reporting that Antics, the new album by Interpol had been leaked. Moments later a little elf (yes, a real elf) emailed me with a link to the album. I’m listening now and it sounds fantastic! It’s quite a bit more upbeat than Turn On The Bright Lights, but I’m sold.
It looks like Ray will finally be making it to LA to play one night at the Hotel Cafe. Ugh, that’s gonna be a nightmare. I hope he schedules another date or two while he’s here. Thanks to Shayna for alerting me.

I took a nap earlier this evening. It’s been a long day and I was feeling extra drained. I wish I didn’t have to sleep. It feels like a big waste of time. I woke up around 10:30pm after a few hours (?) of sleep. I was still pretty groggy when I woke up, and probably could have just gone back to sleep. I got up, made some dinner and caught up on some TiVo. It’s been a few days since I even turned on the TV. After catching up on some reading I decided to take a walk to the beach and find a nice place on a lifeguard stand and watch the ocean. The full moon made for a super-low tide and little in the way of waves, but it was peaceful. The moon was so bright on the beach, you could see just about everything. I should have taken some pictures. Perhaps I’ll do that tomorrow morning or something. Ugh, the 4th of July weekend by the beach. I’ve been warned and I can’t wait until it passes. At least there’s no one around at 2am.
