After years (yes, it’s been that long), I’ve decided to do something else with jeansandatshirt.com. This will be the new home of the archives from that site as well as my personal soap box. Things are going to be re-arranged a bit and the archives will slowly be filled in. Thanks for your continued support.
I’m beta testing Movable Type 3.0, which is creating quite a few glitches. Bear with me while I lose some sleep and get everything straightened out.

Unless you’ve been under a rock, haven’t read, watched or heard the news, then you know about the torture that U.S. soldiers have been inflicting on Iraqi prisoners. Despite what you’re being led to believe, the torture and inhumane actions against our fellow human beings is not isolated to Abu Ghraib prison. The abuse is widespread and routine. The Bush administration would love you to believe that by prosecuting the soldiers that have appeared in some of the photographs you’ve undoubtedly seen, they will get rid of the problem. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Again, these acts against humanity are not isolated and there are plenty of high-ranking officials who know the details.
To put it simply, the Iraqis that are imprisoned, no matter if their faces appear on playing cards or not deserve to be treated like humans. This isn’t an argument against punishing those who have committed crimes. This is about America adhering to the Geneva Conventions and American soldiers realizing what they are doing isn’t right. These are human beings. We’re doing a fine job of fueling the fire of hatred against America without all of the torture by soldiers. I realize there aren’t many people that will read this, but I write this in hopes that those few that do take a moment to do a little digging for the truth. You don’t have to dig far.

I really want to make the right-hand column a separate blog, so that I don’t have to go in and edit the actual Movable Type template that makes this page look like it does. From what I have been reading, it’s gonna take some PHP power, but my PHP foo is nonexistent so I need some experienced pointers or a tutorial of some kind. Any takers?
I started using NetNewsWire a couple of weeks ago to get RSS feeds. My surfing and reading habits have totally changed. I spend less time browsing the sites I used to visit, sometimes several times per day. Now I am presented with, at the very least, headlines that I can browse. Sometimes I may get an excerpt as well. I’ve been able to actually read more because I’m not spending the same amount of time surfing. I can’t tell you how much I love it. I don’t watch TV without TiVo and now I don’t browse (much) without RSS. Although it’s always existed, I haven’t drawn attention to the fact that there is an RSS feed of this site as well. While I may be a little late jumping on the RSS bandwagon, it’s clearly being adopted en masse.
Not that I needed another reason to mistrust our President. And for all you conservatives thinking you’re gonna vote for Bush in November, please read this. You have several months.
Everyone hates the fact that you have to register for quite a few of the news sites… Well, I know I do. That’s why I was so happy to read about Bugmenot.com on The Morning News. Get to reading!
